Capcom dropped a new trailer that was packed with quite a few reveals. Primarily, we now have a release date for the game. It’s scheduled to arrive on September 19.
In addition to discovering when the game will drop, we also got the skinny on several details surrounding the story in Infinite. Enter Ultron Sigma, the hyper villainous result of literally cramming two separate cybernetic entities into one being.
The disparate universes have clashed in previous titles, but this will mark the first time that the two will have merged into one. The juxtaposition (it’s always nice when you can use a word of such caliber) of Marvel’s heroes fighting alongside Capcom’s lineup of famous characters has been the driving force behind the franchise’s success.
Over on Capcom Unity, the company posted a roster, listing some of the characters which will be joining the fight:
- Rocket Raccoon
- Strider Hiryu
- Chris Redfield
Alongside the news about the story of Infinite and its release date, Capcom also announced two special editions of the game. For $89.99, you can pick up the Deluxe Edition of Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite. It comes with access to six characters that will be unlocked sometime after launch. Sigma himself is included in the bunch.
As for the Collector’s Edition; it’ll run you $199.99. Four interlinking figurines, Captain Marvel, Mega Man, Chun Li, and Iron Man will be included in the package. It also comes with a box of LED-lit Infinity Stone replicas and the Deluxe Edition of the game.
The last bit of news concerns pre-orders for Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, which are now available.
