Horizon Zero Dawn has globally sold more than 2.6 million copies including both digital and physical distribution in its first two weeks on the market. Guerrilla Games celebrated the feat in a post on their website earlier today. The game is now the best selling new exclusive IP for the PlayStation 4 since it launched. Horizon Zero Dawn received critical acclaim from a multitude of reviewers and obviously turned out to be popular with consumers. The story, graphics, music, and gameplay were all praised for being remarkably high quality.
Guerrilla Games previously focused on the Killzone series, which may be put on hold for a while after the success of their new franchise. It is expected that Guerrilla Games will work on a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn after its overwhelming success both financially and critically. Some even say that the ending more than hints at the possibility of a sequel due to its unresolved nature. I’d personally love to see a sequel to this game.
Sony recently announced that they plan to put up PS4 games on PlayStation Now. Will we see Horizon Zero Dawn as one of these games in the near future? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
