Want to earn extra money? Are you looking for money making apps where you can earn money or gift cards? Believe it or not, there are apps that pay you in exchange for doing simple tasks like watching ads and completing surveys. If you already spend a lot of time on your smartphone, why not give these money making apps a go and earn a little extra cash or a gift card?
Note: The first two titles on our list are absolutely the best ways to earn passive income in the Cryptocurrency sphere. Both Fomo 3D and Proof of Weak Hands 3D are incredible ways to earn lots of money so be sure to definitely look into those two products.
Here are the top 15 apps that pay you or can earn you serious passive income.
First on our list of the best apps that pay and make you money is the newly released decentralized app (DApp) Fomo 3D. Think of Fomo 3D as a world-wide lottery that mixes in passive income. There are multiple ways to play Fomo 3D but the most common ways are to either be the last person holding a Key or to get in early on a round and use your Keys as passive income.
The way the game works is pretty simple. There is an Ethereum Pot created every round from all the Ethereum that is purchased via Keys from players. In the long version of Fomo 3D the round last 24 hours. Each time someone purchases a full Key it adds 30 seconds to the timer. The cap for the timer is 24 hours. Once the timer reaches zero whoever held the last full Key purchased wins the Pot. So if the Pot is 200 Ethereum then the winner gets 200 Ethereum.
The Pot you see in game is only half of the Ethereum held in the Smart Contract. So if the Pot is 200 Ethereum that means there is about 400 Ethereum in the Smart Contract. 200 goes to the winner and the rest is distributed to Key holders. (It’s more complicated than this but we’re giving you the simple version).
How to earn Passive Income with Fomo 3D: So here is the great part. Although it would be nice to be the last person holding the Key when the timer hits zero and win the pot there is another way to make money with Fomo 3D. Like we mentioned above in the long game the round timer is 24 hours. In the short game the timer is 90 seconds. In both game versions whenever someone buys a full Key it adds time to the timer.
So for instance in the Long Con version every full Key purchase adds 30 seconds to the timer. Since the hard cap for the timer is 24 hours this means players can keep the round going for days, weeks, months, and possibly years.
During this time whoever holds Keys in the round is earning dividends from everyone buying Keys! So basically a portion of every Key bought goes to other Key holders in the form of Ethereum. So for example if you bought 4000 Keys in a round and were earning $40 worth of Ethereum a day in Ethereum dividends, imagine if the round lasted months or years.
Once the round ends the Pot is distributed and the next round starts. You can once again buy in and use your Keys as passive income like before!
Note: If you are familiar with affiliate marketing, Fomo 3D allows you to (for like $5) purchase a referral link to use. You will then earn 10% of whatever anyone who clicks your link spends on the game Fomo 3D. Everytime they buy Keys you will get 10% of that!

Proof of Weak Hands 3D
Proof of Weak Hands 3D is another DApp created by the same developers who made Fomo 3D. This is another app that provides you a way to earn passive income by making Ethereum dividends. Simply put you can make dividends (divies) directly through people purchasing P3D (Proof of Weak Hands 3D) tokens and from Fomo 3D purchase volume.
Imagine P3D tokens as stock and Fomo 3D as the product. In the near future all 3D games created like Fomo 3D will provide P3D token holders with dividends from every 3D game. The developers are going for an ecosystem that provides P3D holders an endless amount of dividends from every 3D game created. So as of right now P3D token holders gain dividends from players buying Keys in the Fomo 3D game.
This is an incredible way to earn passive income and you should definitely look into it.

Swagbucks is a California-based rewards program that offers different ways for you to earn money on the side. You can earn points – called “SB” – for watching videos online, shopping at well-known online websites, using the app’s search function, digging for discount deals online, and answering surveys or daily polls. You can exchange your SB for gift cards from popular companies like Amazon, Target, and Walmart.
Thanks to the different ways that you can earn SB, Swagbucks doesn’t feel stagnant. If you get tired of watching videos, you can switch to other areas until you get bored again. You can also refer friends to earn more SB! If you want to experience the full package, check out the original desktop version of Swagbucks. It’s one of the best apps that pay through gift cards and it’s a great way to earn rewards during your free time.
Don’t worry; CashPirate is legit, despite what its name suggests. This money making app is nearly identical to Swagbucks in terms of services offered. You can earn Pirate Coins – the app’s currency – by completing tasks like downloading and playing apps, watching videos, and answering short surveys. You can exchange your Pirate Coins for gift cards from Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Starbucks, Walmart, and much more.
If you prefer to get paid in cash, that’s cool, too. 1000 Pirate Coins translates to $1. However, you can only get a payout via PayPal if you have a minimum of 2500 Pirate Coins, which is equal to $2.50. Just like with Swagbucks, you can also earn more Pirates Coins by inviting friends to CashPirate.
Whenever friends use your invitation code during registration, they will immediately receive 500 bonus Pirate Coins. Moreover, you’ll receive 10% of your referrals’ earnings and 5% of their referrals’ earnings. Can things get any more rewarding than that?
App trailers that automatically play while you’re playing a mobile game are annoying. They’re similar to those forced ads on YouTube. But did you know you can actually earn gift cards and money by watching those app trailers? Simply install the AppTrailers app and watch short videos all day long.
You’ll earn points for every app trailer you watch. The number of points varies depending on the app. Some reward you with less than 10 points while others reward you with more than 50 points. You can see how many points an app trailer will offer, allowing you to pick only the high-paying ones if you want to quickly rack up points. But remember, many users will be going the same route, so be sure to check for new app trailers often. As for the rewards? You can swap your hard-earned points for gift cards or PayPal money.
Not satisfied simply viewing app trailers in AppTrailers? AppKarma lets you play the apps you’ve downloaded and pays you for your “trouble.” How cool is that? AppKarma has lots of incredibly enticing features that goes beyond simply downloading apps and watching app trailers. You can also earn points by continuously playing the apps and participating in quizzes related to the apps.
AppKarma also has an achievements feature, which further rewards you with points, instead of simply giving you a badge or trophy. Some of the milestones include installing a specific number of apps, watching lots of app trailers, and inviting friends to the cause. Speaking of which, AppKarma grants you with a whopping 30% cut from your referrals’ earnings.
But wait, there’s more! AppKarma has a VIP Referral Program for those who own YouTube channels with at least 1000 subscribers. AppKarma will pay you to promote the app in your videos, and the higher number of views you get, the higher the pay. Your referral bonus will also get boosted to as much 50%, depending on your channel’s appraisal.
What else? Oh yeah, the rewards. You can exchange your points for PayPal money or gift cards from Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Xbox Live, Steam, Facebook, Starbucks, and PlayStation Network. And best of all, every time you redeem your rewards, you will get 5% of the points you just spent!
See those hiring signs hanging on store windows that passersby don’t seem to be interested in? You can make money out of those. Or more specifically, Amazon gift cards. Job Spotter is an app that encourages you to take pictures of hiring signs. You earn points for every submission, which you can exchange for a $1 Amazon gift card once you hit 100 points.
It’s not that much, but considering it only takes a few seconds to snap pictures, it’s a good deal. Just make sure to use the Job Spotter app when taking pictures. And don’t forget to take pictures of the storefront, too. Your approved submissions will appear on Indeed.com, so you’re also helping others look for jobs by using the app. The next time you’re out playing Pokemon GO, be on the lookout for hiring signs.
Field Agent is an app where you complete small tasks in exchange for a small amount of cash – between $2 and $12, according to the app – which is transferred via PayPal or Dwolla. Jobs come from business in your area and typically involve taking pictures of things and completing surveys. The availability of the jobs depends on your location and the number of active “agents.”
Once you apply for a job, you can immediately attend to it without waiting for the app to give you the green light. However, you’ll be given a time-frame to complete it. Failing to complete jobs on time will negatively affect your profile. Take note that the work you turned in is still subject to verification and approval. You won’t get paid if your work gets denied, so don’t be sloppy with your work.
Gigwalk is very similar to Field Agent. It’s an app where you can get short-term jobs or “gigs” that can be easily completed in just a few hours or even minutes, depending on the task. Payments can be anywhere between $3 and $100 (or more) and are directly sent to your PayPal account. Jobs usually involve retailers asking you to check or verify their products in a specific location near you.
However, unlike in Field Agent, you can’t immediately work on a gig after you applied. You need to wait for Gigwalk to hand you the gig. But at least the gigs are more rewarding and are definitely worth the wait. Applying for gigs in Gigwalk is similar to real-life jobs: the better your credentials are, the better chances of getting more high-paying gigs. So approach gigs like any other job and avoid turning in half-assed outputs.
The internet is full of scams. There are hundreds of survey panels promising excellent rewards just for completing short surveys. But not all of them are legit. Many are simply looking to scam you. PanelPlace is an app that keeps track of all the legit survey panels on the internet. It won’t actually give you surveys to answer. More accurately, it’s a sort of marketplace where you can search for totally-not-fake survey panels, which you can join anytime.
The app’s only job is to make sure you don’t waste your time on bogus survey panels. Payments and rewards come directly from the survey panels – not PanelPlace. Survey panels usually use a system centered on points or credits, which you can use to redeem cool rewards like gift cards and even money sent via PayPal.
Surveys On The Go
Love answering surveys but hate manually searching for survey panels (for the most part) using PanelPlace? Surveys On The Go has you covered. Surveys On The Go directly notifies you when a paid survey is available for you to answer. After completing a survey, you get paid in cash – none of those redeemable points. Once you accumulate $10 in earnings, you can transfer it to your PayPal account. Yes, Surveys On The Go handles your payment, unlike PanelPlace.
You can choose which industries you prefer to answer surveys in. Entertainment, politics, technology, sports – these are just some of the categories where you can take your survey-answering talents to. And rest assured that you will remain anonymous in all the surveys you join. Don’t expect a lot of survey invitations per week, though. The app typically sends out only a couple of survey invites per week.
If randomly downloading apps on Google Play is part of your daily routine, you might as well try to earn money while doing it. AppBounty is an app that pays you for downloading and trying out other apps. It’s pretty straightforward: You register for an AppBounty account and then simply download any apps offered by the app. Easy, right?
Each app that you download earns you AppBounty credits, which you can exchange for gift cards from Amazon, iTunes, PlayStation Network, Steam, and other online stores. Sadly, you can’t convert your credits directly into cash. If you’re a serial online shopper who gladly accepts all kinds of gift cards, you’ll love AppBounty.
Tired of using coupons whenever you’re out grocery shopping? Try Ibotta instead! Basically, Ibotta is a coupon app that allows you to get discounts on regular grocery items, clothing, electronics, and even alcohol (you need to be of legal age, of course). You can also get discounts on other shopping apps.
Ibotta has a wide selection of coupons. But to unlock the majority of them, you need to perform simple tasks first, like watching ads and answering surveys. You can only buy the discounted products after unlocking their respective coupons in the app. The app works on hundreds of groceries, pharmacies, restaurants, and clothing stores, so you will never run out of chances to get discounts.
To redeem your rebate, you will need to show Ibotta proof of your purchase for verification. You can either take a picture of the receipt or link your loyalty card (if you have one) to Ibotta. Once you receive your rebate, you can transfer it to your PayPal account. You also have the option to swap it for gift cards for even more shopping.
Tapporo is similar to Swagbucks and CashPirate, but less popular. If you’re having trouble with the latter two apps or simply want a change of scenery, so to speak, you can use Tapporo instead. You can earn “ORO Coins” by watching ads, downloading apps, completing easy surveys, and other simple tasks. Once you have earned enough, you can exchange your ORO Coins for PayPal money or gift cards from Amazon, Google Play, Hulu, and many others. You can also purchase accessories for your smartphone – like cases and cables – from the Tapporo Store.
If you’re still not satisfied, you can join the Tapporo Sweepstakes and get the chance to earn even more rewards. Like with Swagbucks and CashPirate, inviting friends to join the party gets you more rewards in the long run (you get a cut from their earnings). So start spreading the word to your family and friends and set yourself up for more ORO Coins in the future.
Google Opinion Rewards
Capping off the list is another survey app. But this time, it’s an official app by Google. That pretty much tells you that the app is totally legit. Google Opinion Rewards is incredibly easy to use. Just sign up and wait for the app to send you surveys to complete. You can receive up to $1 in Google Play credit for every survey completed.
That’s the good news. The bad news is, Google doesn’t send many surveys per week. Expect to receive just a couple of them per week. If you’re all about surveys, you can pair Google Opinion Rewards with either Surveys On The Go, PanelPlace, or both to maximize your earnings solely off surveys.
Our recommendation for money making apps
If you have a lot of free time on your hands, you can use a number of these apps at the same time to maximize your earnings. For an all-around rewards machine, we recommend the combination of CashPirate (for multi-avenue rewards), AppKarma (for app-based rewards) and either Surveys On The Go or Google Opinion Rewards (for survey rewards). You can top it off with Job Spotter, which you can use only when walking outside.
