Tequila Works received backlash from Nintendo fans when it was announced that the Switch version of the upcoming RiME would not only release later than other platforms but will also cost $10 more. In other words, Nintendo Switch owners would have to pay $39.99 to own RiME at a later date while PC, PS4, and Xbox One owners would only pay $29.99.
However, it looks like the Spanish game developer’s publisher finally realized the problem with their decision and stepped away from it. Grey Boy Games has announced that the digital version of RiME will also only be $29.99, though the physical version remains at $39.99. The physical edition comes with the complete soundtrack.
RiME is a puzzle adventure game with a cel-shaded art style similar to The Wind Waker and Journey. It was originally set to be a PS4 exclusive before Tequila Works acquired the rights to the IP in 2016. RiME launches Q3 2017 for Nintendo Switch and May 26th on other major platforms.
